
Another early WDW advertisement (from 1982). Apropos of this post, commercials for Disney World and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter popped up on my TV. The latter was very much like this one: designed so we marvel at the architecture, the realism, the symmetry of it all… The Disney World ad showed clips from both DL and WDW in rapid succession, with no emphasis on the attractions and too quickly to appreciate the attractions. Only the Magic Kingdom was featured. A child hugging Cinderella was the clearest image presented, a fraction of the 12 million things WDW has to offer. This is marketing playing to a bottom line, not attracting visitors.
